The world has changed a lot since Charles W. Heiner and his wife Kate baked the first loaf of Heiner's bread in 1905. During the past 100 years, this small family business has grown into a thriving bakery in Huntington, West Virginia.

Charles Heiner, the great grandson of the founders, attributes the Bakery's success to its employees, a strong work ethic, and a principle that has been passed down from generation to generation: use the best ingredients, deliver the freshest bread and give the customers exceptional value. "We have always tried to be low-key and let the product speak for itself," he says. As Plant Manager, Heiner oversees the bread making processes to ensure consistency and quality. "We're proud of our products and continue to give our customers delicious loaves, buns and rolls that stay fresh longer."

Home to the region's number one brand, Heiner's, and the number one national brand, Sara Lee, the Bakery employs nearly 500 people in its 130,000 square foot facility. Sold only under the Heiner's and Sara Lee names, the bakery's variety of white, wheat and sourdough breads can be found in most super centers, grocery, retail and convenience stores throughout West Virginia, Ohio, eastern Kentucky and western Virginia.
